This year’s Rare Disease Day was a resounding success!

Thank you to many of you for participating with the Zebra-themed shirts and jean ribbons, for joining the virtual event and for various activities you have conducted to raise awareness on rare diseases.

If you missed the wonderful virtual event organized by our friends at NORD, you can watch the video here: https://rarediseases.org/rare-disease-day/stream/

Here are some highlights from our community members!

Julia Band Orange organized activities at York School in Toronto under the theme of “Jeans for Genes” which featured a tie dye station, so that students could wear their own colorful shirts with their jeans on the Rare Disease Day. There were also denim ribbons and jewelry/keychains which were sold at school and a glow in the dark “Show your Colors” carnival at lunch hour with glow stick ring toss!

Samantha & Julia Finch wore jeans & shared jean ribbons to raise awareness in their community.  Check out hashtags #JeansforGenes and #CAREaboutRARE to see some highlights from #RareDiseaseDay2022.
