With a lofty goal of $25,000, the Foundation initiated an email campaign in early November, asking members of the community to activate their networks in giving. The idea behind this approach was to expand our reach and get all families invested in our common mission. Email templates were provided to make the process as easy as possible. Two families in particular heard our call and responded big time! The Talarico Family gave $10,000, including a $5,000 matching donation from Hershey, where Gaby works. Pushpa Rao reached out to family and friends, including via an Instagram campaign, and raised $5,730. All told, we received 16 donations for a total of $18,556.75. Although we fell short of our goal, we are grateful to those who participated. We are proud of the work our volunteer foundation is able to accomplish on a modest budget; imagine our impact if we had more funds. We will be hosting our second annual virtual walk/run fundraiser in the spring and hope to have a big turnout!
