The APS Type 1 Foundation is proud to partner with Raregivers™, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by rare diseases. Raregivers™ was created with a simple but powerful mission: to ensure that patients, caregivers, and advocates never feel alone in their journey. By fostering connection, education, and emotional support, Raregivers™ helps build a stronger and more compassionate rare disease community.

One of the organization’s most impactful offerings is its weekly Women’s Empowerment Circle virtual meetings every Tuesday at 1:00 pm Eastern time. Join Padma Gordon, embodied mindfulness counselor, for a heartfelt and practical weekly workshop designed to support you in your relationship journey. Bring your questions, challenges, and triumphs — gather in community to support one another on the path of mindful connection. Tune in from the comfort of your home and take a step toward more conscious, connected relationships. These gatherings provide a safe, welcoming space where members of the rare disease community can connect with others who truly understand the challenges of living with or caring for someone with a complex condition.

Raregivers™ also serves as an important advocacy and educational resource, helping raise awareness about the unique needs of rare disease patients and caregivers. Their commitment to community-building aligns closely with the mission of the APS Type 1 Foundation: creating stronger support systems and improving quality of life for those affected by rare disease. We encourage our community members to explore the resources and programs offered by RareGivers, including the Raregivers™ Emotional Journey Map Guidebook, an evidence-based resource, developed from 287 peer-reviewed studies, expert stakeholder reviews and insights from global leaders in mental health and rare disease care.
